Renault Kiger is probably the name of the new sub-compact SUV from the French auto manufacturer. Ahead of launching the new car in the Indian domestic market, Renault has teased it online.
As it appears Renault Kiger will come with sharp design language. As the teaser video reveals, the Renault Kiger gets sharp and futuristic LED headlamps with turn indicators, rear roof spoiler, body-coloured door handles and LED taillights.

Expect the Renault Kiger to come with a bold and more stylish appearance as compared to the Renault cars already available in India. With the arrival of the Kiger sub-compact SUV, it will be the fourth model in the automaker’s India portfolio, alongside the Kwid, Triber and Duster.
The SUV segment in Indian auto market has been experiencing high demand in the last few years, like the rest of the world market. This is the reason, Tata Motors, one of the largest homegrown automakers in the country is focusing on having a wide SUV portfolio. Renault too aims to grab a chunk of that pie with its upcoming Kiger SUV. In the UV segment, Renault India has already seen the success with models like Triber and Duster.

The Renault Kiger SUV gets a large touchscreen infotainment system that would come with smartphone connectivity and connected car technologies integrated. Also, the Renault Kiger would get a multifunctional steering wheel, automatic AC, electric sunroof and a 360-degree surround-view camera. So far, Renault would equip the upcoming SUV as a stylish and upmarket product.
Renault had hinted at the launch of a new sub-compact SUV in the Indian market in early 2019. With the car already teased, expect it to hit the market some time later this year or in early 2021. The Renault Kiger SUV would be based on the same CMF-A architecture that also underpins the Nissan Magnite SUV, as both the automakers are part of the alliance.

Expect the engine of the Nissan Magnite SUV to work under the hood of the Renault Kiger as well. The Nissan Magnite gets two different petrol engine options. These are a 1.0-litre B4D unit and a 1.0-litre turbo HRA0 motor. Expect the engines to churn out similar power and torque output as the Nissan Magnite.
Upon launch, the Renault Kiger SUV is likely to challenge the rivals in the segment like Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos and Mahindra XUV300.
